Is there any way I can change my name and ss# and have a clean credit report again?
I am 43 had 3 husbands and they ruined me and my credit. I don’t have 7 yrs to wait for it to be cleared and I don’t want bankruptcy…can I change my name and ss# and get a clean credit report. Desperate to live again!!
There is not a way to change a social security number just in order to clear your credit. Yes, bankruotcy is an option. It will stay on your credit for seven years but (there are always buts in life) there are different chapters of bankruotcy. Chapter 13 is basically a debt consolidation. You and your creditors agree on a plan to pay back debt and that can be anywhaere from 3 to seven years before its dicharged and you can reestablish credit. There is also Chapter 7, this basically wipes out EVERYTHING and is discharged in 3 to 6 months allowing you to reestablish your credit sooner. It is pretty easy once the bankruptcy is discharged to reestablish yourself.

You are paying for bad choices made. And if you went bankrupt, it would be on the record for 10 years.
Also the things on your record will only go off in 7 years if you have cleared them up. Ifyou still owe, it they can get a judgement, it stays on longer and so forth
You can change your name by going to court, but you still keep your same social security number,

Faking your death might work, but it’s a complicated process and takes a commitment most people aren’t willing to undergo. Typically, it also ends up being expensive and not worth the cost.
Beyond that, I would suggest a Credit Counselor. They advertise often on late-evening television and are often not-for-profit organizations that will help you for free.

What you are trying to do is con the creditors by getting a federal tax number and trying toget credit that way. Many "credit repair" agencies tried using that scam to help out their clients.
Don’t do it, the feds are on to it and you will get arrested.
There is no way to change your SSI number either.
