What’s the best way to clean up your credit report?
Is there any way to get negative things off of your credit report?
actually there is a possibility to get factual negative things off your report
file a dispute for one big corporation item
if the Company in question doesn’t verify it within 30 days. it has to be removed from your report

if they are a result of fraud yes or a mistake by the creditor. Other than that no. All you can do is pay off your debts in a timely manner and try to keep yourself out of credit issues in the future. Negative things do not go away but their effect on you in the future can be reduced when you pay off your debts on time or earlier than scheduled

shamefully? admits I’ve been able to get a few actual negative items removed from my report that way
You need to pay your bills in a timely manner. Once you get your debt down and keep up with all your payments for a long period of time your credit score will improve.

You can get negative items off of your credit report by disputing the accuracy of the report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows for you to do so. To find out exactly what is being reported, you need to get reports from all 3 credit reporting agencies. You can get one for free if you have recently been denied credit. You can also order what is called a tri-merge. It is a merged report that has everything being reported from all 3 CRA’s. Once you have it you can dispute the accuracy of the report directly with the CRA’S. If you enlist a credit repair company make sure that they dispute all the negative stuff on your credit, rather than charge a monthly fee to dispute x amount of trade lines per month. Also make sure they give you a copy of the Credit Repair Organizations act. Your credit can be repaired in as little as 75 days. Others might say more or less, but that’s the maximum amount of time it takes for the credit repair process to run it’s course.

depending on how old the debt is, it may be in your best interest to leave it alone & NOT pay it. here is why:
A debt stays on your file for 7 years from its last activity. if they put it on your file 5 years ago, you have 2 years to go before it is removed permanently… and CANNOT be placed back on there… EVER!
BUT, if it has been on there for 5 yrs and you suddenly start paying on it, guess what…. it is on there for 7 more years… as a "slow pay" account.
here is a great way to offset the bad on your file.
get 5 banks in mind. local to you. take $1,000 to the first bank & tell them you want to put it in CD & get a loan against it to improve your credit. work an agreement with them to pay over a 12 month period. The banks will do this because if you default on the loan, they already have your money in a CD.
take the $1,000 loan & go to bank #2. Do the same thing. then to bank #3. and so on & so forth. The possibilities are endless. you can go to 20 banks of you can afford the 20 payments. Within 2 or 3 months, the banks will begin reporting your good history of paying your loan… an WALA!!!! you score goes up & the good outweighs those bads that you have been stressing over.
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THE BANKS THAT YOU GO TO REPORT TO CREDIT BUREAUS. IF NOT, YOUR EFFORTS WILL BE MEANINGLESS TO FUTURE CREDITORS.
best of luck to you.
