How do I raise credit score after bank fraud and identity theft?
After check fraud discovered, closed that acct, opened another at same bank, but not all auto payments were transferred to the new account resulting in what ended up being late payments when I discovered bills not being paid. As a result, my credit score tanked. What can I do to repair my good credit rating?

The bank can give you a letter to send to your creditors stating that you closed the account as a result of identity theft and fraud. When you discovered the identity theft, you should have filed a police report and sent a copy of that report to each of your creditors as well as the 3 credit bureaus. That should clean up your credit.

I would definitely go to the bank 1st & get a letter from them explaining what has happened. It WILL help only I can promise it won’t be resolved overnight. These kinds of things take "forever!" There is a credit repair company that I personally use, that specializes in those kind of situations. If you want to dispute & fight them yourself, go to http://www.annualreditreport.com & get your FREE copy of all 3 credit reports & start there. If you would like to have a credit repair company assist you with this, I suggest using http://www.ecreditattorney-marketing.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=5030
I started using them in June 2009 & have already raised my credit score about 110 points. They’ve been great to work with fast results, & only cost $29 a month & no contract (thank God!) ood Luck & I hope this helps!
